Omar's Big Game Shake
Omar is a fast toddler who loves playing American football with his friends. During a big game, he learns that being kind to the other team is the most important rule. He helps a fallen player up and shows everyone what a true teammate looks like.
Once upon a time, a little boy named Omar loved to play American football. Omar had straight black hair and a very big smile. Every morning, he put on his blue jersey and grabbed his small brown football. He practiced running across the soft green grass in his backyard. Omar dreamed of playing a real game with all his friends one day.
Finally, the big day arrived at the local park for the toddler football game. Omar felt very excited as he saw the bright white lines on the field. He met his teammates and put on his shiny silver helmet. The sun was shining, and many families were sitting on blankets to watch. Omar practiced his fastest running moves to get ready for the first play.
The game began, and Omar was faster than a little bunny. He tucked the ball under his arm and ran toward the end zone. The players on the other team tried to catch him, but Omar was very quick. He scored a touchdown and felt very proud of his hard work. However, he noticed a boy on the other team looking a little bit sad.
In the next play, a boy named Leo from the opposing team tripped and fell down. Leo sat on the grass and looked like he might start to cry. Instead of running past him to score again, Omar stopped right where he was. He walked over to Leo and reached out his hand to help him stand. Omar knew that being a kind friend was more important than winning the game.
Leo smiled and thanked Omar for the help before they both started running again. When the game ended, the coach asked everyone to line up in two long rows. Omar walked down the line and gave a high-five to every single player on the other team. He looked them in the eye and said 'good game' with a very friendly voice. All the parents clapped loudly for the children showing such great respect.
That evening, Omar felt very happy as he walked home with his family. He realized that the best part of football was making new friends on both teams. Even though he liked scoring points, helping Leo made his heart feel even better. Omar tucked his football under his arm and dreamed of more games to play. He learned that respect makes every game more fun for everyone involved.
